We’re proud to share our refined custom designed renovation that reimagines a 25-year-old residence into a timeless, Southern plantation-inspired haven. After 15 years in the property, the homeowners were ready to modernise their space while preserving its charm.

The client brief
The original home, while full of memories, no longer met the family’s evolving lifestyle needs. Outdated finishes, limited storage, and a lack of cohesive flow between key areas made daily life less efficient. The garage was undersized for their vehicles, and the absence of a practical entry point for sports gear and laundry created ongoing clutter and inconvenience.
Working in close collaboration with local building designer, RW Creative, we prioritised:
- A reimagined floor plan that improved flow and functionality
- Aesthetic alignment with the Southern plantation style
- Durable, family-friendly finishes
- Enhanced street appeal and evening presence
- Seamless transitions between levels and zones

Exterior highlights
- New windows, doors, decorative timber elements and storm shutters for that Southern Plantation vibe
- Laying a herringbone brick pathway using heritage bricks sourced from Victoria
- Upgrading external lighting for enhanced curb appeal
- Painting the front door in a Caribbean-inspired hue with gold hardware
Interior highlights
- A new open staircase with decorative timber posts and intricate wainscoting
- Expanding the garage and adding a functional mudroom and new laundry
- Refreshing upper-level flooring with hybrid planks and plush, pet friendly, carpet
- Adding custom bullnose stair treads for a seamless finish to the upstairs flooring
Biggest project wins
One of the biggest wins was the internal reconfiguration that allowed us to seamlessly combine the laundry and mudroom, transforming a cluttered entry into a clean, functional transition space tailored to how the family truly lives. The new foyer is now open and welcoming to guests when they arrive.
We’re also really proud of the herringbone brick pathway. This was a key design element that the homeowner wanted to incorporate, and after struggling to find authentic heritage bricks in Queensland, we were able to source these from Victoria. Our handy tiler painstakingly laid the complex herringbone pattern – a detail that now defines the home’s arrival experience.
