The Brief: In this project, we took on the challenge of transforming a small, separate bathroom and toilet into a single, spacious retreat of coastal charm. The goal? To create a kids’ bathroom that was as stylish and beautiful as the rest of the home.

Our clients had recently started renovating their house and wanted the kids’ bathroom to reflect the same level of finish and attention to detail. The brief called for a coastal theme that would make the space feel airy and inviting.

Renovation Before and After:

We started with two cramped, separate rooms. By combining them into a single, larger space, we not only increased the footprint but also enhanced the functionality and flow.

Design Elements:

To achieve the coastal look, we used a palette of soft grey, white, and natural timber tones.

  • Flooring: We used the Beaumont Tile Venetian Terrazzo tile in white, and ran it half height up the back wall for effect.

  • Walls: All walls are crisp white, but we added texture by using Beaumont Tiles Craft White Matt Subway Tile in the shower and fibre cement VJ panelling on the other walls.  VJ panelling is an easy way to bring the coastal feel into a room, but if you’re working in a wet area make sure you use the fibre cement option as it is resistant to rot, water damage, warping and swelling.

  • Fixtures: Sleek, modern fixtures in brushed gold keep things sophisticated.

Special Features:

Despite being a kids’ bathroom, we incorporated features that ensure it remains functional and stylish as they grow.

  • A deep, freestanding bathtub for relaxing soaks.

  • A recessed mirrored shaving cabinet for additional storage.

  • A full-length shelf along the wall of the shower and bath, to stack shampoo, conditioner and body wash

Client’s Feedback:  Our clients were thrilled with the transformation, loving how the new bathroom perfectly complements their beautifully renovated home. Here’s what they had to say:

” From our very first design meeting to the final handover of our renovation, we were thoroughly impressed with the professionalism and expertise of Mel and Steve from Dellwood Constructions. Their attention to detail is impeccable, and their communication skills are the best we’ve encountered. Every aspect of our extensive renovation showcases their commitment to quality. Steve is not only respectful but also a pleasure to have around, and his building skills are exceptional. We cannot recommend this business highly enough! “
